1. About these terms

varld.shop ("Värld", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Odyssey Gallery AD Private Limited, a company registered in India (CIN: U47912WB2024PTC272912), at Himangshu Mohan Chakraborty Road, Kolkata, West Bengal 700108, India.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply whenever you browse varld.shop, create an account or buy from us. They include our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Cancellation, Returns and Refund Policy. By using varld.shop or placing an order, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for all activity on your account.

2. Our products

Every piece on Värld is handmade by independent artisans in Europe and ordered from the artisan specifically for you. Handmade pieces naturally vary, so colour, glaze, texture, size and finish may differ slightly from the photos and from one piece to the next. These variations are part of each piece's character and are not defects. Colours may also look different depending on your screen.

Product pages list dimensions, materials and care details. Please read them carefully, and contact us before ordering if anything is unclear. We may update product descriptions, prices and availability, or withdraw a product, at any time.

3. Orders

  • Your order is an offer. Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we accept your order, which happens when we send your order confirmation email.
  • Our right to decline. We may decline or cancel any order, for example if a piece is unavailable, an artisan cannot make it, there is an obvious pricing or listing error, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we will refund you in full.
  • Cancelling your order. You can cancel only as set out in our Cancellation, Returns and Refund Policy. Once we have confirmed your order with your artisan, it cannot be cancelled.
  • Returns and refunds. We do not accept returns for a change of mind. Claims for damaged or incorrect items are handled under our Cancellation, Returns and Refund Policy.
  • Personal use. Purchases are for your own personal or household use, or as gifts, and not for commercial resale.

4. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in the currency selected on the site and include applicable import duties and taxes for the destinations we ship to. Shipping charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout.
  • The price you pay is the price shown when you place your order. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.
  • Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments. You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you provide.
  • If you pay in a currency other than ours, your bank or card provider may apply its own exchange rate or fees, which we do not control.

5. Shipping and delivery

We ship slowly and carefully, by design. Delivery times, costs and destinations are set out in our Shipping Policy. Delivery times are estimates, and we are not responsible for delays outside our control, including time held by customs authorities, carrier disruptions, strikes, natural disasters, or incorrect delivery details.

Ownership of your order passes to you once we have received full payment. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when your order is delivered to the address you gave us.

6. Intellectual property

The Värld name, logo, website design, text, photography and other content belong to us or our licensors, including our artisans, whose designs remain their own. You may use the site for your own personal shopping only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or commercially use any of its content without our written permission.

7. Reviews and feedback

If you send us reviews, photos, ideas or other feedback, you allow us to use, edit and publish them, including in our marketing, without payment to you. You confirm that what you send is your own, is accurate and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may remove any content at our discretion.

8. Using the site responsibly

You agree not to use varld.shop for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose. This includes giving false information, making false or exaggerated claims, submitting altered or misleading evidence, misusing payment methods or chargebacks, interfering with the site's security, or scraping or copying its content.

To protect our customers and artisans, we use fraud-prevention tools and may review the order and claim history on your account. We may refuse orders, decline claims, or suspend or close accounts where we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, and we may report fraudulent activity to the relevant authorities.

varld.shop runs on Shopify and uses other third-party services, such as payment providers and couriers. Your purchases are made with us, not with Shopify, and Shopify is not responsible for any part of them. Links to other websites, such as artisans' own pages or Instagram, are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. Our liability

  • We provide the site "as is". We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of profit, business or opportunity.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including customs holds, carrier disruptions, strikes, natural disasters, pandemics, war or government action.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits any liability or any right you have that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for any losses, costs or claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or any fraudulent claim you make.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of varld.shop, are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Kolkata, West Bengal, have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law to bring a complaint where you live.

13. Grievance officer

If you have a complaint, please contact us first. We will acknowledge it within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month.

14. General

  • Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. The version shown on this page when you place an order applies to that order.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
  • Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the policies they refer to form the entire agreement between you and us.
