Once in a blue moon...Half moon jar vase.
Handmade, wheel thrown "mini" moon jar vase. Each vase has a unique shape and glaze.
Moon jars are a type of traditional Korean white pottery which was made during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910).
The name comes from its shape and milky color of the glaze to resemble the moon.
I make many white moon jars, but thought it would be fun to make a Half-white Half-blue one for a "blue moon" moment in the night sky.
Beautiful, decorative ceramic, also ideal for ikebana flower arrangements.
